Egg freezing (cryopreservation)

Damien Fertility Partners offers egg freezing to patients looking to preserve future fertility. These patients include women who wish to wait until they are older to have a baby and women who are undergoing other medical treatments, like chemotherapy, which may damage their eggs.

In order to perform egg freezing, women take injectable medications to stimulate their ovaries to make multiple eggs. The eggs are then removed during a short procedure, referred to as an oocyte retrieval. The mature eggs are then stored through a process called vitrification for use at a later date.
